About Source-Ray Equipment

What is the difference between the SR-115 and SR-130?
The SR-115 is Source-Ray’s cost-effective 1.5 kW portable designed for price-sensitive markets, with 100 kVp / 15 mA output and lightweight agility for small-room imaging. The SR-130 is the premium 3.0 kW flagship at 100 kVp / 30 mA with the #1 power-to-weight ratio in its class, intended for hospital-quality bedside imaging.
Which Source-Ray system is best for high-volume hospital use?
The PowerMax 1260 (3.0 kW, 40–120 kVp) and the UC-5000 full mobile system (5.0 kW, 40–110 kVp) are designed for high-throughput hospital environments. The UC-5000 is a self-contained mobile DR cart with integrated workstation; the PowerMax 1260 is a portable platform originally engineered for military deployment.
Does Source-Ray make veterinary equipment?
Yes. The VXS-115 is Source-Ray’s dedicated veterinary digital X-ray system. It plugs into a standard wall outlet, supports wired and wireless DR detectors, and is designed for small animal, equine, and bovine applications.
Is Source-Ray equipment made in the USA?
Yes. All Source-Ray systems are designed, manufactured, and serviced at their facility in Ronkonkoma, New York. The company is MDSAP / ISO 13485 certified and complies with CFR 21 Subchapter J.
Are Source-Ray portables compatible with digital detectors?
Yes. Every system in the lineup — SR-115, SR-130, PowerMax 1260, UC-5000, and VXS-115 — is offered in Full Digital, Digital-Ready, or analog configurations and is compatible with current-generation wired and wireless DR flat panels.
Which Source-Ray system is best for sports medicine and orthopedic clinics?
The SR-130 (3.0 kW, 100 kVp / 30 mA) is the most popular choice for sports medicine — its #1 power-to-weight ratio makes it ideal for sideline imaging, training-room workups, and same-day orthopedic radiography. The SR-115 is a great cost-effective option for clinic-based ortho and chiropractic practices, and the PowerMax 1260 is used by team physicians who need 120 kVp output for larger athletes.
