About Canon Medical

Canon Medical Systems is the medical imaging division of Canon Inc., one of the world’s most recognized technology companies. Canon’s CXDI (Canon X-ray Digital Imager) series of flat panel detectors is built on Canon’s proprietary LANMIT (Large Area New Metal-Insulator Semiconductor and TFT) amorphous silicon sensor platform with a 125 μm pixel pitch — finer than most competitors — delivering exceptionally high-resolution images. Canon’s CXDI detectors have been trusted in radiology departments worldwide for decades, combining Canon’s renowned optical engineering with clinical-grade radiography performance. The latest CXDI-Elite and CXDI-710 series add carbon fiber construction, IP57 protection, and optional deep learning image enhancement.

Why Choose Canon Medical?

  • Proprietary LANMIT a-Si sensor platform — 125 μm pixel pitch (finer than most competitors)
  • CXDI-Elite: carbon fiber construction, IP57-rated, 2.3–2.5 kg ultra-lightweight
  • CXDI-710: carbon fiber, IP57, wireless AED, 35×43 cm (2.3 kg) and 42×43 cm (2.8 kg)
  • Up to 99 images stored in built-in memory — no image loss on connection interruption
  • Optional deep learning AI image enhancement for improved diagnostic clarity
  • Removable/refurbishable protective covers for extended product lifecycle
  • CXDI Control Software NE — comprehensive workflow and image processing platform
  • Available in 10×12, 14×17, and 17×17 formats — wired and wireless

About Canon Medical Detectors

What is Canon’s LANMIT technology?
LANMIT (Large Area New Metal-Insulator Semiconductor and TFT) is Canon’s proprietary amorphous silicon sensor design, refined over decades of digital imaging engineering. The LANMIT platform achieves a 125 μm pixel pitch — finer than most competing detectors — enabling Canon CXDI detectors to capture higher spatial resolution images with exceptional contrast.
What is the IP rating on Canon CXDI detectors?
Canon’s CXDI-710 and CXDI-Elite series carry IP57 protection — protecting against complete dust ingress and temporary immersion in water. The CXDI-702 carries IP55. Canon’s IP ratings ensure detectors withstand the rigorous disinfection protocols demanded in modern radiology departments.
Does Canon offer AI-enhanced imaging on their flat panel detectors?
Yes. Canon’s CXDI-Elite and CXDI-720C series offer optional deep learning AI image processing that significantly improves image quality, assists in diagnosis, and may reduce required dose. This optional software enhancement is activated through Canon’s CXDI Control Software NE platform.
