Does H&abyz make complete portable X-ray systems, or just detectors?
H&abyz offers both. Their HnX-P1 series provides complete all-in-one handheld portable DR systems — combining a high-frequency generator with a wireless CsI flat panel detector — for human medical (HnX-P1OPIX) and veterinary (HnX-P1 Vet) applications. They also sell their detectors (A1417MCW, A1717MCW, F1417MCW) separately for integration into existing X-ray systems.
Are H&abyz detectors compatible with my existing X-ray generator?
Yes. H&abyz detectors feature auto-trigger signal sensing technology that allows operation with any X-ray generator without requiring generator integration or special cables. Both wired and wireless models are available.
What does “glass-free” actually mean for an H&abyz detector?
Most flat panel detectors use a thin sheet of TFT glass as the substrate that carries the imaging electronics. Glass works, but it cracks under drops, cassette-tray flex, and rough field handling. H&abyz has replaced that glass substrate with a flexible/polymer alternative on its glass-free models — same CsI scintillator and TFT readout pattern, but on a substrate that bends slightly under load instead of shattering. The practical wins are weight (the F1417MCW lands around 2 kg at 14×17), IP56 sealing on the A1417MCW-Flat glass-free version, and far better tolerance to the kind of impacts and twisting that destroy a typical glass panel during portable, trauma, or barn-side imaging.
Which H&abyz models are glass-free vs glass-substrate?
F1417MCW is the dedicated flexible glass-free model — built from the ground up on a non-glass substrate. A1417MCW-Flat is the glass-free version of the A1417MCW, IP56-rated and ultra-lightweight. The standard A1417MCW and A1717MCW remain on a traditional TFT-glass build for fixed-room and price-sensitive deployments.
